Montessori Pre-School Teacher (Multiple Openings)
Role description
Prepare and plan lessons based on the Early Childhood Montessori curriculum. Instruct and guide children in activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development. Organize and lead activities such as games, arts and crafts, music, and storytelling. Observe and evaluate children’s performance, behavior, social development and physical health. Identify learning challenges and assist specialist in the development of programs to address learning challenges. Interact and provide feedback to children’s caregiver. Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children’s progress and development. Provide assessment of children’s needs and suggest ways that the parent and guardians can promote learning and development. Perform administrative functions, including maintaining class records, preparation of reports and memos, class newsletter and organizing parent teacher conference meetings etc. Collaborate with fellow teachers on key early childhood education skills and the school’s curriculum and organizing day to day classroom schedules and activities. Participate in school events (trainings, conferences, meetings), and support strategic initiatives of the school’s management. Monitor the cleanliness and safety of the classroom environment. Spot check that the safety and cleanliness of the classroom equipment and utensils meet the standards of the school. Duties will be performed as assistant teacher under supervision of Certified Montessori Teacher until certification obtained by worker.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must have bachelor’s degree in any field (or foreign equivalent) and 2 years of early childhood teaching experience. Minimal domestic travel (less than 5%) required to attend conferences and trainings. Telecommuting Not Permitted. Must be willing and able to pursue Montessori Certification at employer expense.
